Ricochet17 — October 21, 2017
“a citywide celebration of arts & creativity”
presented by AIR (Arts Incubator of Richardson)
Various venues throughout the City of Richardson, Texas
Ricochet17 is a city-wide focus on the arts featuring arts organizations, individual artists and other creatives in the region. Presented as a collaborative effort between AIR (Arts Incubator of Richardson) and many creatives and businesses, Ricochet16 is the basis for creating a “culture map” of the City while also creating awareness for National Arts & Humanities Month in October. Ricochet16 is designed to be an annual event focused on the arts and creativity.
An all-day events on Saturday (10:00am – 4:00pm – all FREE), the ricochet effect will be exhibited as lovers of all types of creativity go from place to place across Richardson enjoying and engaging in a variety of creative activities. The different venues exemplify the long-range strategic plan for the arts’ concept of creative clusters and public art.
WHAT: Ricochet17 provides opportunities for artists and creatives of many kinds to showcase their talents while creating greater awareness of the vibrant arts and creative community in Richardson. Last year’s Ricochet16 reached a combined audience of 4000!
Saturday – October 21, 2017: 10:00am – 4:00pm; Ricochet Ride for bicyclists
WHERE: Multiple venues across the City will host FREE performances and engaging activities for anyone who loves the arts and creativity. Sites range from the Richardson Public Library to Richardson Heights Shopping Center, and from Galatyn Commons to Four Bullets Brewery, and points in between.
WHO: Artists range from singers, dancers, and actors to painters, storytellers, and jugglers! Creativity on Tap is the art/creative exhibit in partnership with Four Bullets Brewery featuring new works of art, poetry, stories, music and more all based on “beer.” Sidewalk chalk artists return this year, too, at Heights Shopping Center.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Funds are needed to support the paying of the artists/creatives, printing of the cultural maps, signage, media coverage and general support.
