Ever wondered what it takes to build a career in music? Find out Nov. 13 at the next AIRTime, presented by AIR4arts, where performing artist, singer-songwriter Brianna Ruelas will share her story about what inspired her to write her book Performing Artist Pathway: Navigate the Highs and Lows On Your Music Journey. Her book speaks to the emotional journey, highs and lows, performing artists experience as they pursue their dreams. It answers the artist’s need for guidance and practical advice on taking that next step to realize their own success in music.

As a singer and performer for 25 years, Brianna has studied internationally and performed all genres, from jazz to rock to pop, received a BA in Theatre Arts from Pepperdine University, and spent years honing her musical theatre chops. After graduating college, Brianna changed her focus on theatre to pursue music as a solo artist and also worked as a commercial voiceover actor. Brianna has fronted her own rock band and experienced the reality television craze in its early days as a Top 100 finalist on American Idol, Season 4.

This evening’s movie selection is Almost Famous, directed and produced by Cameron Crowe, and starring Kate Hudson, Patrick Fugit and Bill Crudup. A high-school boy is given the chance to write a story for Rolling Stone Magazine about an up-and-coming rock band as he accompanies them on their concert tour.

What is AIRTime?

AIRTime is an artist interview series presented by AIR4arts. The event was formerly held live on stage at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson, Texas. In 2020 we shifted to provide a virtual experience via Facebook Live.

Not able to tune in live with us? A recording of the interview will be made available shortly after the event. As always, each and every AIRTime interview can be listened to at your leisure as a podcast on Apple Podcasts or in your favorite podcast player.
