Love to be scared out of your wits? Love those classic zombie films? Ready for Halloween? Then this next “AIR Time” is just for you! Read on to discover more about our featured guest artist LOYD CRYER.
AIR (Arts Incubator of Richardson) continues Season 5 of AIR Time on October 15 featuring guest artist Loyd Cryer. Cryer will be interviewed by moderator Chris Tucker. Following the interview, guests are invited to stay for a very special showing of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968, black and white). Admission is FREE, but when reserving a seat online you must purchase a $4 food voucher which can be used at the event. Walk-ins are welcomed, but a reservation guarantees a seat. AIR Time interview begins at 7:00pm and the film starts at 7:45pm. Approximate film length: 96 minutes.
LOYD CRYER is a native Texan who grew up in Ellis County on a steady diet of horror films. The first film he remembers seeing was “The Exorcist” at age four. His lifelong fascination with the genre led him to create the largest horror convention in the nation, Texas Frightmare Weekend, which is celebrating its tenth successful year this May 1-3, 2015 in Dallas. Guests already include Malcolm McDowell, the first ever convention appearance of ‘Scream’ series superstar Neve Campbell, Julian Sands, Tara Reid and more.
Loyd’s knowledge of the horror genre has led to his appearing on the recently released “Texas Chain Saw Massacre” 40th Anniversary Blu-ray for a special feature titled “Flesh Wounds: Seven Stories of the Saw.”
His goal for Texas Frightmare Weekend is to unite and shine a spotlight on horror fans and filmmakers from around the world right here in the heart of North Texas.
AIR Time is held at Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson. 100 South Central Expressway, Richardson 75080.
Reservations may be made through the Alamo website approximately a week prior to the event at http://drafthouse.com/
